The Government’s announcement of a new, consistent front-of-pack food labelling system has been welcomed by the UK’s major food retailers.   Not necessarily this shopper,although its a brilliant idea. 

Green, amber and red colour-coding will help me make informed decisions about products based on the amount of salt, sugar, saturated fats and calories they contain yes but it will end my quick trips to my Supermarket of choice in my lunch hour and I shall now need a full half day to peruse the shelves for the goodies I like just to make sure I have a suitably colour coded trolley!.
